With 493+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, bull sharks, dolphins and eagle rays - Tamarindo Beach offers some of Fajardo & East Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Tamarindo Beach offers a gentle introduction to diving on Puerto Rico's east coast. Drop down to around 15 metres and you'll find a sandy bottom dotted with small coral patches and sponges. It’s a good spot for spotting juvenile reef fish – we’ve seen plenty of tiny snapper, grunts, and even a few garden eels poking their heads out of the sand here. The calm conditions make it ideal for new divers or those looking for a relaxed photo dive.
