With 213+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, dolphins, eagle rays, nurse sharks and sea turtles - Colusium offers some of Lighthouse Reef's richest wall diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Colusium, in Lighthouse Reef, is one of those Belize sites where we often find ourselves drifting past big barrel sponges and gorgonian fans. It's a relaxed dive, usually a gentle current, making it a good choice for newer divers looking to get comfortable with wall diving. Keep an eye out for nurse sharks tucked under ledges and reef fish like snapper and parrotfish grazing on the corals. It's a solid, reliable dive for a pleasant afternoon.
