Why dive here
With 217+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, orcas, sea turtles and pufferfish - Campanario offers some of Caribbean Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest March, April, May.
Campanario offers a straightforward dive on Costa Rica's Caribbean side. The reef here provides shelter for a good range of smaller critters, often with nurse sharks lounging in the sandy patches. It's a relaxed spot, typically without strong currents, making it a good choice for newer divers or those looking for an easy second dive. You can expect to see various reef fish and, if you're lucky, a turtle passing through.
