Why dive here
With 217+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, orcas, sea turtles and pufferfish - Devils Bottom offers some of Caribbean Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest March, April, May.
Devils Bottom, off Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, offers a straightforward dive. We've often found small reef sharks patrolling the deeper sections here, along with the usual reef fish. It’s a decent site if you're looking for an easy morning dive, not too challenging, and good for clocking some bottom time. Expect pleasant conditions, though it's not a site known for big pelagic action.
