Why dive here
With 217+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, orcas, sea turtles and pufferfish - El Aquario offers some of Caribbean Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest March, April, May.
El Aquario, off Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, is a straightforward dive. You'll generally find healthy hard corals and a reliable collection of reef fish, like parrotfish and angelfish, pottering around. It's a solid choice for an easy afternoon dive or for newer divers getting comfortable with Caribbean conditions. We usually see a turtle or two pass through if we keep an eye out.
