With 217+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, orcas, sea turtles and pufferfish - El Secreto 2 offers some of Caribbean Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest March, April, May.
El Secreto 2 is a shallow, beginner-friendly spot on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, topping out at 17 metres. We find it’s a good place for newer divers to practice buoyancy over a sandy bottom, broken up by small patches of coral. Expect to see some of the usual reef fish, like grunts and snappers, and occasionally a stingray resting in the sand. It’s a decent option if you’re looking for a relaxed, easy dive.
