Grape Escape - Roatán

Les Roses in Prony Bay isn't just another lagoon dive. What makes this site a standout is the sheer density of coral, forming these incredible rose-like structures that give the place its name. We love drifting over them, watching the light play through the water, illuminating the subtle shifts in colour. You’ll spot groups of Fourline Cardinalfish hovering in the nooks, and we often see Bristletoothed Surgeonfish grazing among the polyps. It’s a shallow dive, maxing out at 14 metres, which means good bottom time and plenty of ambient light for photography. Visibility averages 13 metres, which is decent enough to appreciate the scale of the formations. Our favourite time to visit is mid-morning, when the sun is high, really making the corals pop. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff too, like the Duncker's pipefish we've occasionally spotted tucked away. This site is perfect for anyone who appreciates intricate coral formations and wants a relaxed, beautiful dive without strong currents.
