With 382+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, humpback whales and sperm whales - Nigali Passage offers some of Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef's richest drift diving.
Nigali Passage on the Great Astrolabe Reef is a classic drift dive, best timed with the incoming tide. We often see grey reef sharks patrolling the channel mouth, along with schools of barracuda and trevally. It’s a site for experienced divers comfortable with current, offering a lively ride through the reef system.
Safety Notes
Drift dive - carry a surface marker buoy (SMB) and stay with your group. Brief the current direction before entry.
