Picnic Island - Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef

Picnic Island is one of those easy, relaxed dives, perfect for a gentle afternoon. At a max depth of 17 meters, it’s truly beginner-friendly, and we’ve often used it as a warm-up or a refresher dive. The corals here are decent, not the kaleidoscopic explosions you find deeper in the Astrolabe, but healthy enough to attract plenty of smaller reef fish – think parrotfish munching away, schools of fusiliers zipping past. It's a comfortable spot to just cruise along, enjoy the quiet, and dial into being underwater without any real challenges.
