Niue West Coast

The West Coast of Niue isn't just diving, it's an exploration. We love the feeling of slipping into a chasm, sunlight filtering down through cracks in the rock, illuminating schools of fusiliers so thick they momentarily block the way. Visibility here is consistently excellent, often stretching beyond 40 metres, making those dramatic cave and reef formations even more striking. Our favourite sites are the ones that blend reef and cavern, giving you the best of both worlds. Look for the banded cleaner shrimp in their regular stations, almost posing for a photo. We've seen some impressive parrotfish here too, including the striking chameleon parrotfish, munching their way across the staghorn corals. Keep an eye out for the small-eyed squirrelfish tucked into crevices and the curious pufferfish hovering near the reef edge. Diving around the full moon can bring out more pelagics, though the currents can pick up a bit then. We'd suggest focusing on the morning dives for the calmest conditions and best light penetration into the caves.
