With 428+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), seahorses and sea turtles - Ogan offers some of Ishigaki & Yaeyama's richest diving. Water ranges 23-30°C, warmest July, August, September.
Ogan is an exposed pinnacle, often battered by strong currents, making it a dive for experienced hands only. We’ve seen large schools of dogtooth tuna and barracuda here, sometimes circling the main rock. The shallower depth means you get good bottom time, but you really need to be comfortable in surge and drift. It’s a site for those who enjoy the thrill of open ocean action.
