We’ve spent a fair bit of time exploring Izu’s volcanic shorelines, and if you’re looking to dive with a crew that truly knows the local waters, Coconut Tokyo is our pick. They’ve been teaching here for ages, and it shows in how smoothly everything runs. The team at Coconut Tokyo are just incredibly patient, which is a big plus when you’re navigating some of Izu’s trickier entries, or if you’re a newer diver getting comfortable with the cooler water temperatures. What we really appreciate about them is their focus on the diving itself – no fuss, just solid local knowledge. They really specialise in getting you comfortable in conditions that can sometimes be a bit brisk, especially during the colder months when the visibility often opens up beautifully.
