The team at Diving Lounge aqua QUEST are the kind of people you want to dive with. They run a slick operation, but it feels like you're diving with friends. We reckon they’re particularly great if you’re looking to go pro; this is a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, and they clearly know their stuff when it comes to instruction. We love diving Izu, and aqua QUEST are perfectly positioned to show you its best bits, especially around the Atami and Ito areas. You’ll find some genuinely unique sites here. Think unusual rock formations, schools of yellowback fusiliers that swirl so thick they momentarily block the sun, and sometimes even the chance to spot a green sea turtle cruising by. After a morning of diving, the shop’s glass front means you can warm up with a coffee and still watch the waves. It’s a small touch, but it makes a real difference. If you’re a solo diver, we’d suggest them even more strongly; they're excellent at making everyone feel welcome and integrated.
