We’ve always found their instructors to be incredibly patient and knowledgeable, perfect if you’re looking to get certified or just want to refine some skills before heading out to the dive sites. You’ll typically do two dives, maybe at sites like Futo or Atami, where we’ve often seen big schools of horse mackerel swirling around the rock formations. Then, it's usually followed by a fantastic local lunch – think fresh sashimi or a hearty ramen. It's a great taste of Japanese culture both above and below the surface, and frankly, a far more relaxing way to experience Izu’s unique volcanic topography than trying to coordinate everything yourself. Just remember to pack a warm towel, the water can be a bit chilly outside of summer.
