With 369+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, bull sharks, humpback whales, seahorses and sea turtles - Kuroshima South offers some of Kerama Islands's richest reef diving. Water ranges 22-30°C, warmest July, August, September.
Kuroshima South is a good spot for newer divers in the Kerama Islands. The reef here levels out around 18m, making it a relaxed dive. We've often seen clownfish tucked into anemones and small schools of snapper hovering over the rocks. It’s a gentle introduction to the area’s marine life, perfect for building confidence.
