Tropical Diving - Nosy Be
Tropical Diving, despite the name, isn't a dive shop but a cracking spot off Nosy Be that we really rate. It’s the kind of place where you drop in and immediately feel that warm embrace of the Indian Ocean. We’ve had some truly tranquil dives here, the kind where you float along, almost hypnotised by the rhythm of the reef. We've spotted plenty of Six-line wrasse darting between the Montipora and Cauliflower corals, a constant flurry of activity. Keep an eye out for the Common seahorse; they’re masters of disguise but incredibly rewarding to find tucked away in the soft corals. The Lettered Mitre snails are also quite common on the sandy patches, and if you’re into macro, we always suggest looking closely at the Bubble coral for tiny critters. It’s a gentle drift, often, making it great for photographers or anyone who just wants to soak it all in without battling a current. The visibility tends to be good, usually around 20 metres or more, which means those vibrant yellows of the Yellowstriped Cardinalfish really pop. We find it’s best in the mornings before the wind picks up, offering the calmest surface conditions.
