Drop down to Nosy Be's Black Coral Garden and you're entering a different world, darker and more mysterious than some of the shallower sites. We found ourselves navigating impressive thickets of black coral, their intricate branches creating a habitat for all sorts of reef dwellers. Keep an eye out for the resident groupers and snappers that patrol the deeper sections here, they’re often quite large. This site is a solid pick for those comfortable with depths down to 40 meters, looking for something a bit more dramatic.
