Nala Prodivers - Baa Atoll
The team at Nala Prodivers are the kind of people you want looking out for you on a dive trip. They’re based on Nala Island, but it’s their intimate knowledge of the Baa Atoll that truly sets them apart. We love that they really lean into the region's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status; it’s not just a brochure bullet point for them. If you're coming to Baa, chances are you're here for the mantas, and Nala Prodivers are absolutely your go-to for finding them. They know exactly when and where the aggregations at Hanifaru Bay kick off, and critically, how to navigate the crowds that can form. Beyond the mantas, their guides have a knack for spotting the smaller stuff, too. We've had phenomenal luck with ghost pipefish and frogfish on their house reef dives – surprisingly good for an easy shore entry. They run a slick operation, as you'd expect from Prodivers, but it still feels personal. We’d suggest chatting with them about tidal movements; it can make a real difference to the current and visibility on some of Baa’s channels. They’re PADI 5 Star, so expect solid courses, but for us, their real strength is guiding divers who already know their way around.
