Embudu Finolhu Outside - North Malé Atoll

Embudu Finolhu Outside always delivers. It’s got that classic Maldivian channel vibe without the intense washing machine currents you sometimes get further south. We love drifting along the outer reef, letting the gentle push carry us past the overhangs. Keep an eye out for the cleaner mimic wrasses; they’re often busy at their stations, a little show playing out right in front of you. Our favourite part is the drop-off itself, particularly the deeper sections where big Malabar groupers lurk in the shadows, waiting for an easy meal. The stony corals here are impressive, forming a robust foundation for everything else. You'll often find schools of Ternate chromis shimmering over the reef crest, a living cloud of iridescent blue. For macro fans, the crevices hold bloodspot and messmate pipefish, if you have the patience to spot them. It's a relaxed drift, perfect for anyone who enjoys a leisurely pace with plenty to observe.
