Lankan Caves - North Malé Atoll

Lankan Caves is a good spot for when you want a little more than just a drift along a reef wall, but you’re not quite ready for a full-on thila. At 23 metres max, it’s an intermediate dive, perfect for those comfortable with navigating overhead environments. We’ve found the currents here can vary, sometimes a gentle push, other times a good ride, so keep an eye on the briefing. Inside the caves, you'll often find a collection of sleeping nurse sharks tucked into the ledges, alongside schooling fusiliers darting in and out. If you’re patient and keep your torch beam steady, you might even spot an octopus peeking from a crevice. It’s a solid choice for a second dive of the day when you’re looking for something interesting without being too demanding.
