With 45+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue sharks, sea turtles and whale sharks - Broken rock offers some of Vaavu Atoll's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Broken Rock in Vaavu Atoll delivers on its name; a split boulder creates a swim-through tunnel, a nice feature on an otherwise straightforward reef. You'll find plenty of hard corals here, along with the usual reef fish and perhaps a whitetip reef shark or two patrolling the deeper sections. It’s a decent drift dive for those comfortable with mild currents, offering a pleasant look at a healthy Maldivian reef.
