With 45+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue sharks, sea turtles and whale sharks - Devana Kandu offers some of Vaavu Atoll's richest drift diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Devana Kandu offers a decent drift, not the most dramatic of Vaavu's channels, but it holds its own. We've often found ourselves gliding past good stands of staghorn and lettuce corals, and it’s a reliable spot for green turtles. The current can pick up, so it's one for those comfortable with a bit of pace. If you're looking for a relaxed channel dive with a good chance of turtle encounters, Devana Kandu fits the bill.
