    Hudhu Thila, a pinnacle in Vaavu Atoll, offers a pretty reliable shark encounter. We’ve seen blacktip reef sharks here on most dives, cruising the edges of the thila as the current picks up. While whale shark sightings are always a roll of the dice in the Maldives, this spot is known for them, especially during certain seasons. Keep an eye out for patches of clump seagrass, a nice change from the usual coral landscapes, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a tiny shrimp from the *Salmoneus* genus. It's a straightforward dive, good for those who enjoy a bit of current and pelagic action.
