With 45+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue sharks, sea turtles and whale sharks - Maamigili Beyru offers some of Vaavu Atoll's richest channel diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Maamigili Beyru is a consistent spot for whale shark encounters in Vaavu Atoll. We often find them cruising the drop-off, particularly in the mornings. The reef structure itself is fairly standard for the area, with some healthy staghorn and table corals. It's a dive purely for the chance to swim alongside the biggest fish in the ocean.
