Piège à Requins - Saint-Gilles & West Coast
Piège à Requins, or "Shark Trap," always makes us chuckle. Not because it’s a trap, but because the name hints at the deeper, more exciting parts of Réunion’s diving. Dropping to 37 metres, this intermediate site is a good choice for those comfortable with deeper profiles. We’ve found it’s less about big pelagics and more about the structure itself – deep reef walls with some impressive overhangs that hide plenty of smaller reef sharks and schooling fish. You’ll want to keep an eye on your bottom time here, but it’s a solid deep dive for exploring the more rugged side of the west coast.
