Why dive here
With 511+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue sharks, dolphins and eagle rays - Saliba offers some of Saint-Gilles & West Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 25-29°C, warmest January, February, March.
Saliba is a solid intermediate dive off the coast of Saint-Gilles, dropping to 32 meters. We usually find ourselves drifting along a volcanic slope here, with overhangs and little crevices housing plenty of morays and lionfish. It’s a good spot for a relaxed deep dive, where you can keep an eye out for larger pelagics cruising by in the blue – we've spotted dogtooth tuna and even a few reef sharks here on occasion. The visibility is generally good, making it a reliable choice when you want a pleasant, unhurried dive without too much fuss.
