Big Blue Divers Platte Island - Inner Islands

The team at Big Blue Divers Platte Island really shines for divers who appreciate the quiet hum of a healthy reef away from the crowds. We love their focus on the island's untouched eastern side, where the currents often bring in bigger pelagics. It's a proper escape, best suited for those happy to trade bustling dive boats for a more personal, unhurried experience. If you’re looking to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in the Seychelles’ less-explored corners, this is your spot. Platte Island itself feels like a secret the ocean is just barely willing to share. We spent days exploring its drop-offs, drifting past walls thick with barrel sponges and gorgonians, watching grey reef sharks patrol the blue. Our favourite moments were the late morning dives on the outer reefs, when the light filtered down, illuminating schools of surgeonfish and snapper so dense they almost blocked the sun. The visibility, especially between October and April, can be phenomenal, often pushing past 30 metres. Just be prepared for some exposed conditions on the eastern sites; the currents can pick up, making it a more exhilarating drift. While it's PADI 5 Star, the diving here leans towards experienced explorers, though the team are excellent at tailoring trips for less seasoned divers too.
