Galle Ship Wreck - Hikkaduwa & South Coast
The Galle Ship Wreck in Hikkaduwa is a decent little dive, sitting upright at 16 metres. It’s an older wreck, a cargo vessel we think, and the years underwater have given it plenty of character. You can poke around the superstructure, finding cabins that are now home to batfish and sweetlips, and the deck often has moray eels peeking out from under plating. It’s a good choice for newer wreck divers or anyone looking for a relaxed afternoon dive, easily accessible from shore. Visibility can vary, especially after heavy rains, but on a good day, it’s a pleasant explore.
