We love their enthusiasm for exploring the relatively uncharted wrecks and reefs around Kalpitiya, and it feels like you're truly discovering something new on every dive. Kalpitiya itself is a chilled-out spot, and KDC fits right in, feeling more like a club than a commercial operation. We’ve spent some fantastic surface intervals chatting with the crew about their latest finds, like the vibrant soft corals that sway on the Boiler Wreck. Visibility can vary, but when it’s good, the schools of trevally around the Pearl Banks are genuinely impressive, creating shimmering walls of silver. Our favourite dives here often involve a little current, bringing in pelagics and cleaning stations bustling with fusiliers. They're also brilliant at arranging trips to see the spinner dolphins, which is a real bonus on a surface day. Definitely ask them about the best time for spotting the resident dugongs if you’re hoping to tick that off your list.
