Afro Divers - Dar es Salaam & Offshore Islands
Afro Divers isn’t your typical Dar es Salaam outfit. These guys are focused on getting you away from the usual spots, exploring a network of reefs that feel genuinely untouched. We love that they keep groups small and really make an effort to find new corners of the ocean. If you’re a diver who prefers quiet exploration over crowded sites, or you’re keen on experiencing some proper drift diving, this is your crew. We’ve had some cracking dives with them, particularly around the offshore islands. One morning, the visibility was a dreamy 25 metres and we spent an hour just letting the current carry us past schooling barracuda and reef sharks patrolling the drop-off. You can feel the nutrient-rich water here, it's alive. They’re PADI certified, offering everything from Open Water to Nitrox. Our best tip? Ask about their more adventurous drift dives. The currents can be exhilarating, perfect for those comfortable with a bit of movement, and that's often where you find the bigger stuff. They really shine when it comes to finding those quiet, pristine shallow reefs, too – perfect for a second dive when you just want to soak up the sun and watch the anthias flutter.
