PICCOLO DOMINIUM - Vlora

Piccolo Dominium isn't one of those wrecks that overwhelms you with its size, but it's one of our favourite little history dives in Vlora. Sunk in 1984, this fishing vessel sits upright at a modest 19 metres, making it perfect for an extended no-decompression dive. What we love about this wreck is its accessibility. You can fin around the entire exterior, peering into the collapsed wheelhouse and the open cargo hold. Schools of glinting silversides often shimmer around the superstructure, parting just enough for you to glimpse the hull. It’s not uncommon to spot an octopus tucked into a crevice or a moray eel peeking from a pipe. The gentle current here means visibility often holds well, giving you time to appreciate the way the soft corals and sponges have started to reclaim the metal. We’d suggest going early in the morning; the light filters down beautifully through the mast, creating some stunning photo opportunities. It’s a wonderfully calming wreck dive, great for anyone looking to spend time exploring without feeling rushed.
