DC MIHURIC - Istria Peninsula
The team at DC Mihurić run a tight ship, and we’ve always been impressed by their dedication to proper training. They’re a PADI 5-star Gold Palm IDC resort in Selce, so if you’re looking to go pro or seriously advance your skills, this is one of our top picks in the Adriatic. What we really love is their technical diving program, a real rarity for the region; you can delve into deeper wreck exploration with them that other centres just don’t touch. We’ve had some fantastic dives out of Mihurić over the years. Head out on their custom-built dive boat – it’s comfortable and quick – and you’re often exploring wrecks like the *Peltastis*, a cargo ship from WWII sitting at about 30 metres. Visibility here can hit 25 metres on a good day, allowing you to really appreciate the structure, the way light plays through the holds, and the schools of small pelagics darting through the superstructure. Our favourite dives often happen early, before the summer crowds, when the water is calmer and the marine life a bit bolder. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs on the encrusted railings, and don't forget to look up for the occasional passing tuna. They also dive some great wall sites, where the gorgonians fan out beautifully, so there’s plenty of variety.
