With 108+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, octopuses, sea turtles and cuttlefish - Palagruza offers some of Split & Central Dalmatia's richest diving.
Palagruza sits out in the open Adriatic, a little further afield than most Split day trips. The site itself is a small, rocky islet, which means the diving often involves exploring drop-offs and crevices rather than extensive reef systems. Expect sponges, small schooling fish, and perhaps a passing pelagic if you're lucky. It's a journey for those who appreciate remote, untouched diving rather than abundant macro life.
