Cyprus Underwater Explorers - Larnaca
The team at Cyprus Underwater Explorers are a genuinely passionate bunch. These guys are based in Larnaca, the south of Cyprus, which means direct, easy access to one of the Med's most famous wrecks, the Zenobia. We've spent a fair bit of time diving with them, and what always stands out is their laid-back but professional approach. They run a smooth operation, whether it's a calm Discover Scuba Dive or navigating the deeper sections of the Zenobia. Their bread and butter is, without a doubt, that enormous roll-on/roll-off ferry. We love how they schedule Zenobia trips, often heading out early to beat the crowds, which makes a huge difference to your experience on the main deck. Imagine gliding through the truck deck with fewer divers kicking up silt; it’s a far more serene experience. Beyond the Zenobia, they know the local reefs like the back of their hand. We particularly enjoy their trips to the small pinnacles east of Larnaca. You often find a playful loggerhead turtle hanging around the shallower parts there, and the light filtering through the caves is just something else. Our insider tip? Ask them about night diving the Zenobia. It’s a completely different animal after dark, the moray eels are bolder, and the flashlight beams really pick out the detail on the superstructure. They also offer a full range of PADI courses, so if you're looking to advance your training in a friendly environment, these are your people.
