Aritay
Protected Area
Cap taillat – cap camarat
Why dive here
With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Aritay offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest diving. Water sits around 14°C.
Aritay, tucked into the Calanques, gives you a classic Mediterranean wall dive. We often find good visibility here, revealing rocky overhangs and crevices where moray eels hide. It’s a straightforward dive, well-suited for those looking for a relaxed exploration rather than strong currents or big pelagics. Expect to see plenty of damselfish and small wrasse darting around the rock formations.
Safety Notes
Cold water this month (avg 14°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.
