Why dive here
With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Cap Bear offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
Cap Bear sits just outside Marseille, a solid choice when the Mistral wind kicks up and you need some shelter. The site is a decent wall dive, sloping down to around 20 metres, maybe a little deeper in spots. You’ll typically see small groupers, moray eels tucked into crevices, and schools of damselfish. It's a reliable spot for an easy dive, good for newer divers or for shaking off the rust.
