Cap Cacao
Protected Area
Calanques et îles marseillaises - Cap Canaille et massif du Grand Caunet
Why dive here
With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Cap Cacao offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
Cap Cacao gives you a classic Mediterranean wall dive, dropping away into the blue. We often see schools of damselfish here, sometimes barracuda out in the deeper water if you look hard enough. It's a straightforward drift, good for a relaxed dive when you want to feel the current gently push you along. We'd suggest it for divers looking for an easy, scenic explore.
