Cerbere L epave - Marseille & Calanques

The Cerbère wreck is one of those Mediterranean dives that just sticks with you, a proper metal playground. We love it because it’s so accessible, sitting in a relatively sheltered spot, making it a great second dive of the day or perfect for brushing up on your wreck skills. Drop down and you’re instantly greeted by the stern, usually swarming with damselfish darting in and out of the rusted plating. What makes it special for us is the way the light filters through the superstructure, creating these incredible shafts, especially on a sunny afternoon. You can poke your head into a few of the cargo holds, sometimes finding a grumpy conger eel or a school of cardinalfish huddled in the darker corners. The bow section is our favourite, with its anchor chain still draped over the side, now a busy apartment block for colourful nudibranchs. Visibility here can vary, but on a good day, it’s a brilliant dive for photographers, capturing that classic wreck atmosphere. Just watch out for stray fishing lines near the mast.
