DROME - Marseille & Calanques
The Drome is a pretty interesting wreck, especially if you’re into a bit of history down deep. She’s an old merchant vessel, sunk upright at 52 metres, so definitely one for the experienced diver with decent trim and air consumption. We usually find her decks are a good place to spot conger eels poking out from the shadows, and there’s often a school of barracuda circling above the main superstructure, catching the light. While she’s largely intact, years on the seabed mean some parts are collapsing, which adds to the atmosphere but also means careful penetration if you’re looking to explore inside. We’d suggest focusing on the exterior and letting your eyes adjust to the ambient light to really appreciate her silhouette against the blue.
