    The Etang de Thau, near Marseilles, offers a unique brackish water dive, a change from the typical Mediterranean sites. The "phare" or lighthouse area gives divers a chance to explore a silty bottom, home to seahorses and various crab species. Visibility varies, but we find the shallow depth makes it a relaxed spot for newer divers or those looking for macro life. It's an interesting alternative for a second dive.
