With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Foux de Pompignan offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest cave diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Foux de Pompignan is one of the more accessible shore dives in the Calanques, a good spot for a relaxed exploration. You'll find a gently sloping rocky reef, ideal for newer divers or those looking to test out new gear without strong currents. Keep an eye out for smaller Mediterranean reef fish darting between the rocks and, above water, Lesser Black-backed Gulls often perch nearby. It’s a solid choice for a casual afternoon underwater.
