With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Junker 88 II offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Junker 88 II rests upright on a sandy bottom, a surprisingly intact German bomber from WWII. It’s an atmospheric dive, often with good visibility, allowing you to appreciate the scale and detail of the wreckage. We’ve found it’s best suited for experienced wreck divers comfortable at depth, given its location off the coast of Marseille. There isn't much coral growth, but the plane itself is the draw.
