L Alice-Robert - Marseille & Calanques
The Alice Robert is one of those wrecks that just gets under your skin. We love it because it’s not just a collection of rusty metal; it feels like stepping back into a moment in time, frozen under the waves. You descend onto the port side, the hull leaning dramatically, and immediately the sheer scale of the cargo ship hits you. The bow section, where the deck has collapsed, is our favourite part. Sunlight filters through the gaps, illuminating schools of small damselfish darting between the metal beams. We've spent ages just watching the light play, feeling the cool water shift around us. Look closely and you’ll spot scorpionfish tucked into crevices and big conger eels peeking out from darker sections. Exploring the open hold areas, you get a real sense of the ship's massive carrying capacity. It's an accessible wreck for divers comfortable with penetration, though you can enjoy plenty just exploring the exterior. It’s a proper dive, one where you leave feeling like you’ve been on an adventure.
