Why dive here
With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - La Puissante offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
La Puissante is a straightforward dive in the Marseille area, good for a relaxed afternoon. You'll find typical Mediterranean reef fish here, along with some sponges and anemones clinging to the rock formations. It's a decent spot for newer divers looking to build confidence without strong currents or complex navigation. We'd suggest it if you're after an easy dive day.
