Why dive here
With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Le Bananier offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
Le Bananier offers a straightforward dive, often used for training or a relaxed second dive. You'll find a gentle slope descending to around 15 metres, with scattered rocks and Posidonia seagrass beds. Look closely for nudibranchs and small scorpionfish blending into the rockwork. It's a good choice for newer divers or those wanting an easygoing exploration.
