Why dive here
With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Le Barbier offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
Le Barbier is a solid choice for a dive in the Calanques. You'll find a nice wall dive, dropping to about 25 meters, with plenty of cracks and overhangs to explore. It's a good spot for spotting moray eels and octopus tucked away. Suitable for intermediate divers, it’s generally sheltered from stronger winds, making it a reliable option when other sites are choppy.
