With 157+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and mobula rays (devil rays) - Le mur offers some of Marseille & Calanques's richest wall diving. Water ranges 14-25°C, warmest July, August, September.
Le mur, or "The Wall," offers a straightforward dive, perfect for those looking for an easy entry into the Marseille diving scene. It's a gentle wall, dropping to about 17 metres, which makes it ideal for newer divers or for a relaxed second dive. We’ve found plenty of small stuff tucked into the crevices here – nudibranchs, small blennies, and occasionally a curious octopus peeking out. The light plays nicely on the rock faces, and it’s a good spot to simply cruise along, spotting the common Mediterranean reef fish like damselfish and wrasse.
