N-19Q - Marseille & Calanques
The Catalina seaplane, N-19Q, lies at 55 meters in the Calanques, a silent monument to a rough landing back in '72. We've always found it a compelling dive, not just for the wreck itself, but for the journey to get there. The plane broke up on impact, but the fuselage and wings are still distinct, creating interesting swim-throughs if you're comfortable with the depth and overhead environments. Expect to find conger eels peering from dark corners and schools of damselfish flitting over the encrusted metal. This one is definitely for the experienced wreck diver, keen to explore a piece of aviation history claimed by the Med.
