POURSUIVANTE - Marseille & Calanques

The Poursuivante is a funny one. We love this wreck, not for its imposing size, but for the story it tells and the marine life that’s made it home. Lying at 38 metres, this torpedo boat was scuttled during WWII and then salvaged, but sections remain, scattered across the seafloor. It's less a single, intact vessel and more an archaeological site, broken into fascinating pieces. You’ll find sections of hull, twisted metal, and machinery creating miniature caves and overhangs. Swarms of small damselfish shimmer around the nooks, and we’ve often spotted conger eels peeking out from pipes. The visibility here can be superb on a good day, allowing you to appreciate the scale of the debris field. We’d suggest going early to avoid other boats and taking your time to explore the different sections. It’s a contemplative dive, more about discovery than grand vistas, perfect for divers who appreciate history and macro life.
