The Ramon wreck, lying in a manageable 19 metres, makes for a solid dive if you're exploring the Marseille area. It's a steamship, and while it's classified as 'dangerous', that refers more to its structural integrity than the dive itself; you're not going to be penetrating this one. Instead, it’s a beautiful outer exploration. The wreck is pretty broken up, but you can still make out the general shape of the vessel, and it’s a magnet for local marine life – expect to see plenty of small fish, moray eels peeking from crevices, and big schools of damselfish swirling around the superstructure. It’s a great pick for divers looking for an easy-going wreck dive without heavy currents.
